Hey Pigeon
A personal project, not a product. Testing purposes only.

One bird carrying
your mail.

A minimalist, keyboard-first Gmail client I built for how I personally use email. Not trying to compete with anything, not production-ready — treat it as an experiment.

No backend. Ever.

Hey Pigeon has no server of any kind. It talks straight to your own Google account: Gmail for mail, a hidden Drive folder for reminder sync. Everything stays inside your Google account and a local database on your device. There's no third-party data store to worry about, because there isn't one.

Keyboard-first

j/k to navigate, e to archive, / to search, ⌘K for everything else.

Local-first

Your mailbox lives in a local database. Open, archive, search: 0ms perceived latency.

Multiple accounts

Unified inbox across accounts, with a per-account filter a keystroke away.

No server, ever

Client-only. AI features are bring-your-own-key, calling providers directly from your device.

AI writing assistant

Give the compose box an instruction, like "shorter" or "more formal," and it rewrites the draft in place. BYOK: your OpenAI key, called directly from your device.

AI triage with Jev

Every thread gets a priority and your own labels via Jev, sorted automatically. Local-only — never written back to Gmail.
